Light Installation & Replacement in Austin, TX
A simple upgrade to your lighting configuration can work wonders for any indoor or outdoor space. Whether it’s to give it a fresh look or improve visibility, adding or replacing light fixtures has numerous benefits that can enhance your daily living.
Why to Consider Upgrading Your Lighting
- Aesthetics – Adding to or changing your lighting can transform the look of your property, both inside and from the curb.
- Efficiency – Another potential benefit to consider when upgrading your fixtures is energy efficiency, which goes hand in hand with LED lighting. LEDs use less energy to produce far more light than the former incandescent bulbs (as much as 10X less; 5X is typical). Because LED lighting uses less energy, you can add more lighting to existing circuits without fear of overloading them. You’ll also get much longer element life, so bulbs are not continually hitting the landfills.
- Convenience – Installing a fixture in an area where you have inadequate lighting will make life easier, but you can take convenience next level with a variety of control options, including smart/wifi, motion-activated and timer switches.
- Safety – Outdoor accent lighting can improve the nighttime appearance of your property while also providing additional security.
Types of Lighting Installation We Perform: Residential, Commercial, Indoor & Outdoor
We can install, replace, relocate and repair most lighting, including but not limited to:
- Ceiling fans and fixtures
- Chandeliers
- Motion-activated lighting
- Outdoor lighting – We install all 120 volt and higher, including parking lot lighting.
- Outlets and switches for holiday lighting – We don’t install holiday lighting, but we can make controlling it more convenient. We can install an outdoor outlet that you can control via an indoor switch, which will allow you to turn your holiday lighting on/off without going outside. With a digital timer switch, you can set a schedule for the lighting — for example, setting it to turn on at dusk and off at midnight. If you have an existing outdoor outlet but it’s not connected to a switch — or you’d like to upgrade to a switch with a timer — we can help.
- Recessed cans
- Sconces
- Smart lighting – Smart lighting is connected to the internet through either your wifi or a local network (hub) and can be controlled with a mobile device. This configuration will allow you to turn on/off and dim lights without going to a wall switch, as well as set automatic schedules and create “scenes” that make multiple lighting changes simultaneously. You can also control smart lighting with a voice-controlled virtual assistant, if you have one.

Replacing Existing Lighting and Fixtures
This is usually a simple swap in which you remove the old and install the new — using the wiring and junction box that are already in place. In some cases, more work is required. If the existing junction box is not rated for the weight of the new fixture, for example, it will have to be replaced with one that is. When adding lighting in a new location, a licensed electrician will need to run new wiring to the fixture from a switch that will control it — in addition to installing an adequately rated junction box for the mounting of the fixture.
